Get in shape!

We found an elliptical machine on craigs list for $75. Now I guess I have no excuses left. I must exercise. At least I won't have to leave the house and pay $20/month for the gym anymore. Just wanted to share my awesome find.

Pumpkin Patch

We had a great time at the pumpkin patch! We rode a real steam engine choo choo train, had carmel apples, a hay jump, hay maze, old fashioned car rides, said hello to real Turkeys, and tons more rides. It was great! Farm Adventures

We have had the most amazing week! Mom is here visiting and we all made a trip over the mountains and stopped at the ranch. Aunt Xan took us all down the lane to pick raspberries from the garden. Mackenzy fed the chickens and loved it! Katy found 2 fresh eggs in the chicken coop. Mackenzy wasn't quite ready to go into the chicken coop. We were also lucky enough to see Jim, Sue, and Jody. Mackenzy had the most fun throwing the ball for the dog. We had a lovely lunch with Aunt Xan and Uncle John Jay. It was so nice to see everyone. Below are some pictures of our adventure on the Ranch. Mackenzy also recieved a little stuffed buffalo which she named "fiona". Fiona has been in her arms the entire week. We were expecially impressed by the gigantic buffalo on the wall in the dining room.

Kitty Found!

Wow! We finally found our kitty. She was lost for at least 3 days and I was beginning to lose hope. I called all the animal shelters,animal control, we updated our info at our vet just in case someone found her and called. Mackenzy and I even walked the entire neighborhood putting up fliers and searched everywhere. I had pretty much given up hope when Mike found her on the rooftop. She was probably up there the whole time, hungry, thirsty, and scared. But we found her! Yay! A happy ending for our family. :)

We lost Jewel!

Our kitty is missing! I think the last time I saw her was on Tuesday. Mike thinks he saw her Wednesday morning. She's never been gone more than a day so I'm pretty upset. We did get her microchipped and I've called our vet, but so far no info on her. I just hope she didn't get hurt. Mack and I drove the neighborhoods this morning looking for her and putting up posters. I sure hope we find her. :(

Well Mike finally got his weight set. He's now going to be an ironman! Yippee for me! I've always wanted to be married to a bodybuilder. (not really, but interesting thought) Here's a video of his first workout. lol

Marshmallow Trouble

Lately Mackenzy had decided that she can get into the food in the kitchen. The last few days I keep catching her with the bag of marshmallows in her room! How does she get them? I put them up in a high cupboard and thought "OK, problem solved". Nope! She can climb up there and get them... everytime I turn my back. So I moved them to the top of the refridgerator. "NOW the problem is solved", I thought smugly. Umm... no! I still caught her with the marshmallows! She managed to climb on top of the stove and get them. Yikes! Now where to hide them? Actually, we decided on a time out for climbing and eating marshmallows without permission. What a stinker!

4th of July Pictures

Here are some pictures from the 4th of July. These were all our own and our neighbors displays. It's still legal in Lynnwood to do fireworks, but I suspect next year it might not be. It was very pretty though. Hard to catch the beauty on camera, but I tried.

Good News!

Guess What?!? I'm going to switch to evening shift! Yippee! I just found out that I'll be moving to evenings in late August. So, my life will be back to normal... or as close to normal as I can get. :) Just wanted to share my happy news. I did a little happy dance when I found out.

Daddy ~ Daughter Camping

Mike and Mackenzy had been planning a camp out in the backyard. Last night was the night. We roasted marshmallows and made s'mores, we sat by the fire, we watched the stars, and yup... you guessed it. We all slept in the backyard. I woke up this morning and I felt like I'd been hit by a truck. Sleeping on the ground will do that to a person. I haven't camped in a tent in the backyard since I was a child and now I remember why. Ouch! But Mackenzy had a great time. Now who's going to put all that stuff away? Who?!?

Camping!

Mackenzy and Mike are going to have a special camp out in the backyard tonight. We'll be setting up the tent and getting out the sleeping bags. We even have a fire pit to roast marshmallows and hot dogs. Yummy! I may have to crash the party so I can snag a s'more. Mmmmmm..... Don't get between me and chocolate, it's dangerous. I'll take some pictures to share later. Mackenzy is very excited about it. She's been "packing" her things for her adventure tonight.

Happy Birthday Mike!

Today is Mike's birthday! He's officially over the hill now (27). I think I even saw a receding hair line the other day... hmm. :) If you're reading this, happy birthday sweety! Don't worry, I'll love you even after you've gone completely bald. Besides, my hair will probably be gray before you ever go bald. Hee hee!

A Fairy Princess

Guess who's been on a fairy kick lately? Mackenzy decided to dress up like a character from Fairytopia yesterday and of course I always have the camera waiting. Here are a few of my creations that I plan on using in the sig-line of my e-mail (when I can figure out how to get the darn thing to work) I have signed her up for a creative dance class this summer. She's never done anything like it but I suspect it will be a big hit. Her favorite passtime lately is to dress up and prance/dance around the house. We are also looking into swimming lessons this year. Should be a fun filled summer! Anyhow, thought I would share my beautiful princess.

Weekend Travels

We finally ventured over the mountains this weekend to visit relatives. It was a short visit, but still nice. Mike and Mackenzy went over on Friday and stayed with his aunt. They both went to Morgan's fourth birthday party. For those of you who don't know, Morgan is actually Mike's cousin. Since she's so close in age to Mackenzy we consider them to be the "cousins". They also got a long visit with Taiya who is 5, also a cousin. I drove up on Sunday and we all went to Mike's uncles birthday party and then to my grandpa's house. Lucky us! They were having a barbeque that night anyway so we got to see EVERYONE. Even Aunt Diane and Jessica. Overall it was nice to get out of the city for a bit and to see everyone. I hope we get to make another trip soon. For those of you who love Mackenzy pictures, here is another one that I think is cute. She's such a goofball!

I hope everyone had a great mother's day. Mackenzy and Mike gave me a gift card for Starbucks. Yummy! The perfect gift for me because I will definately use it! Mackenzy also made me a sweet card at school with a little vase of flowers. Then we had a small barbeque which was nice because I didn't have to cook. Cleaning up the kitchen... we are still deciding on that one. Overall, it was a pretty good day.

2 posts in one day! Wow, I'm a blogging maniac. Quick someone stop me before this gets out of hand! Mackenzy has been such a good little helper around the house lately. Whenever Mike mows the lawn she is out there trying to rake the clippings. Today she made her own bed and picked up her toys and has even helped me fold the laundry. I just have to say that I LOVE having a 4 year old. I hope it continues this way... Obedience and eagerness to please. What more could a mom ask for on Mother's day weekend?

Summer almost here...

I thought this would be a great way to keep in touch with family. We have been so busy lately it seems that e-mail is our only link to the outside world! Last weekend we bought Mackenzy a swimming pool for the backyard which she LOVES! It's still a bit chilly to head outside every day but it looks like we might hit 75 degrees on Monday! Definately swimming weather. Anyhow, I am the paparazzi of this family and took TONS of pictures of her. Isn't she cute?
